Thoughts for today-

Jesus in daily life

By William B. Noddy,

Pastor, His Glory community nondenominational church

Hello, my friends.

First, I want to thank Aaron Blinken for allowing me to post this sermon on the internet. Aaron is a heathen, as most of you know, and nearly a Jew, but when I requested equal time for Jesus against his blasphemy, he readily agreed. If this works, the church might buy a computer, with appropriate Nannyware, of course, to keep Satan out, and perhaps we’ll post the sermon every week.

I’d like to take this opportunity to address those of you who are shut-ins, with child, elderly, or otherwise and similarly infirm, who find it hard to go to church, particularly those who would otherwise attend His Glory community nondenominational church: Welcome! The Lord knows you and understands your suffering, Be Not Afraid.

You know, I was watching an average television program the other day, and it occurred to me that the world, and the people in it, of course, has forgotten the meaning and importance of sin.

Sin, my friends, is a transgression against God, the Father, the heavenly Creator who holds our immortal souls in His Mighty Hands like so many squirming, gasping guppies. Sin is an insult to the Great Provider, who brings us our daily bread, salves our wounds, and punishes, eventually, those who harm us. Sin is a hurt to the love of a Just God, who brought a rain of frogs and a plague of flies to Egypt, and according to some sources, the scourge of AIDS to those who use intercourse for personal pleasure, instead of the Godly purpose of sexual reproduction within an approved marriage. In short, sin is an act which we take of our own free will which distances us from the grace of God.

Grace is another word the world has forgotten the meaning and importance of, but that’s for another sermon.

Instead, I’ll ask you, each of you individually and all of you together at once, to examine your soul, look through it thoroughly as if you were cleaning and dusting a cabinet of precious jewels. Look for your own sins, even the least sin, call it out, own it, bring it to God for your punishment as a child brings a report card with failing grades to a tired and grumpy parent. Let the Lord cleanse your soul of sin through suffering and misery in this life, so at the moment of your agonizing death you can rise up, float past the millions of unredeemed worshipers of false gods and unrepentant Christians screaming in agony in hell and suffering crushing, seemingly endless boredom in the cubicles of purgatory, and sail through the golden gates of heaven, where the grace of God will find you clean, reverent, presentable.

I tell you, my friends, it will be as if a miracle had found you, you’ll stand up straight and clean, your soul will be unburdened, the way to God will be clear. Your reward will be not only in heaven, but the joy of being with God will shine in you, and those who know you will probably comment how young you look, or ask if you’ve lost weight.

That ends today’s thought about Jesus. Those of you wishing to make a contribution to the Word of the Lord can bring it by His Glory community nondenominational church on Sunday, or drop it off at my tax-preparation and chiropractic center in town.

Thank you,

William B. Noddy
